About Me

Hello and hope you enjoy finding out a bit about the artist

Paula Gabb was born in London and grew up and still remains living in Solihull near Birmingham West Midlands UK.  Paula has been painting most of her life and now have the opportunity to follow her dreams of becoming a full time artist. Paula preferred medium is oils on canvas but I also enjoy the challenges of painting with other materials such as watercolours including acrylics.

Paula is inspired by the beauty of the British countryside for her landscapes - occasionally populated by historic towns and cityscapes.  Paula spends her time and focus in her local area with an interest in the history, local landscapes around Birmingham and the outlying regions

Paula has also discovered the enjoyment of painting in abstract art as a form expressing the cityscapes, this does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality but instead use shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks to achieve its effect.

Paula delighted that she has been approached for a number of commissions for my art work including paintings in oils and watercolours.

Oil painting her passion as it has enabled her to express herself in ways that would otherwise would not be possible due to having to deal with a lifelong lack of confidence with Dyslexic /Verbal Dyspraxia.

Paula loves the ways the palette knife enables her to give a rich layered texture of the paint that lends a three dimensional aspects to the landscape that changes in different lighting.

Thank you for taking your time viewing my Paula Gabb site.
