Victoria Square was given its name in January 1901 just prior to Queen Victoria death 10 days later. It was only becoming pedestrianised public square many decades later, in 1994. When it was officially opened by Diana, Princess of Wales. Victoria Square is home to both the Town Hall and the Council House, and directly adjacent to Chamberlain Square.
The square is often considered to be the Centre of Birmingham, the place to see my favourite fountain “The Floozie in the Jacuzzi” due to mounting costs of maintenance caused by leaks, the plug was pulled out and in July 2015 bedding plants were to replace the stunning water feature.
The view here looks towards the new flower beds and now The Floozie is surrounded by plants, perhaps she should be renamed?
Unfortunately, the day is wet and the lovers, have met up after a long working day, never mind all this is forgotten once they are together. Romance gives off them a spring in their feet, ready for a night of entertainment in The Town Hall
